This 62,000 SF project consists of the complete renovation and modernization to state-of-the-art standards of the former coating development and testing facility of Bethlehem Steel’s Homer Research Laboratories. New window openings were cut in existing limestone walls in the lower level as part of creating 10,000 SF of new office space. A total of 11,000 SF of dedicated wet lab space was reclaimed and put into operation. New mechanical and electrical systems along with a high-speed audio-video communications network were installed. Added building components consist of a new lobby, meeting rooms, offices, electronics laboratories, kitchenettes, bathrooms and showers. The outside front entrance features a portico roof structure complete with a flagstone walkway upon which sits a bronze statue of Ben Franklin on a bench to welcome visitors.
